day 1: "i hope i'm wearing the right shoes"

A week ago today I was walking into my first day at work at TCU. What a whirlwind trip this has been! I already am in LOVE with my job. Head on over to my other blog (link to the right) to find out why. What do you think? Are these shoes okay for a first day?

v is for vista series: flying home

It's always hard to say goodbye. Here I am at the airport in Ft Worth waiting in a plane to Waco thinking about how ironic it is that I have an apartment in Ft Worth but I am not going there. I love that airports force us to just stop and take a break and make sense of our situations and experiences. May you always have long and thoughtful layovers... or really quick sleep filled direct flights.

v is for vista series: time to relax

Katie and I were in New Mexico for an extra day, so we convinced ourselves that we needed a pedicure. What a great time to be pampered after a long days of training and little sleep. We took the bu and walked through a few large parking lot to get these feet looking so good.

v is for vista series: hanging out

The best parts of PSO were the conversations that happened outside under the big umbrellas. Some many thoughtful, fun people to get to know in such little time. These feet saw more of these tables than the actual city. Good beer, good people, good times. Man, these feet are inspired to change the world.

v is for vista series: bff

I spent last week in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Public Service Orientation before starting my year of service as an Americorps*VISTA. One of the first people I met there was Dyana who QUICKLY becam my BFF. I am sure ANYONE that knows this woman would agree that she is such a good time. She's one of those people who has to grab onto the table or wall b/c she laughs so intensely. That is so energizing for me. Thanks, Dyana, for being someone with whom it is so easy to be myself around.
