So next time you need to do a little home repairs, here is my suggestion: Go to the hardware store of your choice, get the things you need and then just hang around for a few minutes checking out all the many things you can buy in these warehouses. Sunday I learned that you can make your own carpet runner! Anneka and I found these carpets on a roll and told the guy we wanted 13 ft and he cut it for us at $1.40 a foot. How do you finish off the edges, you ask? Well, for 6 bucks you can buy a package of two strips that adhere to the edges and match the side edges perfectly.
